Rock & Stone Identifier ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Rock & Stone Identifier mobile application ("App").
Photos and Images: When you use the App to identify a rock, mineral, crystal, or gemstone, you take or select a photo. This image is sent to our AI processing service for identification purposes only. We do not permanently store your photos on our servers. Photos are processed in real time and discarded after the identification request is complete.
Identification History: Identification results, collection notes, and saved scans are stored locally on your device. This history stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Usage Analytics: We may collect limited analytics such as app opens, feature usage, scan counts, and crash information to improve reliability and user experience. Analytics are used in aggregate and are not intended to personally identify you.
Subscription Information: If you purchase a Pro subscription, payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. Subscription entitlement status may be managed through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your credit card number or full payment details.
Photos and request data may be sent to our backend API and third-party AI providers solely to generate identification results. These services may process the image and text prompt for the purpose of responding to your request. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Saved scan history is stored locally on your device. Network communication with our API uses HTTPS encryption. No method of transmission or storage is perfect, but we use reasonable safeguards for the information involved in providing the App.
The App requests access to your camera and photo library so you can capture or select images for identification. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it if needed.
You can delete saved scans inside the App or remove local data by uninstalling the App. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.
