Snake Identifier & AI Scanner ("we", "our", or "us") is published by MapleByte. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the mobile application.

1. Information We Process

Photos and images: When you scan or import a photo, the image may be sent to our AI processing service to generate a species suggestion. We do not use your photos to create a public profile.

Identification history: Saved sightings, notes, and results are stored locally on your device unless you choose to share them.

Usage, diagnostics, and purchase status: We may process limited analytics, crash diagnostics, anonymous quota identifiers, and subscription entitlement status to run the app, manage limits, restore purchases, and improve reliability.

2. How We Use Information

To provide AI-powered snake and reptile identification results.
To show safety-focused educational information and similar species.
To store your local field log and app preferences.
To manage subscriptions, quotas, support requests, diagnostics, and app improvements.

3. Third-Party Services

The app may use Apple App Store services for purchases, RevenueCat for entitlement management, Mixpanel for analytics, and OpenRouter or model providers behind it for AI image processing. Each provider operates under its own privacy terms.

4. Safety and Medical Disclaimer

Identification results are educational suggestions, not expert, medical, emergency, poison-control, or wildlife-control advice. Never approach, handle, provoke, capture, or relocate a snake based on an app result.

5. Your Choices

You can revoke camera or photo-library permission in device settings. You can remove local app data by deleting saved history or uninstalling the app. Subscription cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple.
